Pakk Taii Design Week 2025
Immerse Yourself in “South Paradise”
Discover Southern Thailand’s Joyful Creative Force
at Pakk Taii Design Week 2025, 28 August - 7 September 2025 in Songkhla
Pakk Taii Design Week is back! This year, Southern Thailand’s biggest annual creative festival, held in Songkhla and organized by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, returns with even more to inspire. Held in collaboration with the people across all 14 southern provinces, the festival aims to build upon the region’s enchanting charm and show visitors that “the South has something good” and “the South has opportunities.” Pakk Taii Design Week 2025 (PTDW2025) invites everyone to be a part of developing Southern Thailand into a creative region full of new opportunities, while also sustainably improving the quality of life and the economy in all aspects.
Pakk Tai Design Week 2025, Themed “South Paradise,” Welcomes All to Explore the South and Enjoy a Creatively Blissful Experience
This marks the third year of the festival, held under the theme of “South Paradise.” It highlights the potential of the 14 southern provinces as a sanctuary for visitors in a world increasingly filled with anxiety, stress, and various problems. The festival offers a healing experience for those seeking peace and comfort, showcasing the region’s abundant landscapes, beautiful nature, serene atmosphere, and rich cultural heritage — from time-honored traditions and flavorful cuisine to distinctive local art.
The festival features creative programs developed through collaboration across all sectors — both public and private. These programs are organized around four key emotional concepts: Moment of Calm, The Art of Relaxing, Place to Energize, and Worry-Free Stage.
Witness the “South Paradise” Via the Four Key Projects
1. South De-Stress Main Pavilion: This pavilion explores the emerging potential of Southern Thailand amid today’s global challenges. Rooted in the belief that happiness is central to a thriving de-stress economy, the space is designed as an inclusive public hub.
2. 14 City Potential Space: This project celebrates the unique strengths of each southern province. It connects with four core human needs identified within the de-stress economy: serenity, relaxation, release, and readiness.
3. South Market: A dynamic creative marketplace featuring curated products from across Southern Thailand. It serves as a testbed for both seasoned and next-generation entrepreneurs to expand their reach and connect with new audiences. The market also includes development programs aimed at nurturing standout offerings — hero products — to better align with consumer trends and market demand.
4. South Collaboration: A series of collaborative projects that unite festival partners with local creative communities. These programs build on the region’s unique stories, assets, and way of life — featuring workshops, special promotions, urban heritage protection and revitalization programs, live performances, and music events in partnership with academic networks. They also include international-local exchange initiatives that foster cross-cultural dialogue and innovation.

Meet One of the the Highlights: “The South Paradise: Rong-ngeng Folk Dance,” a Cross-Border Cultural Collaboration with George Town Festival 2025, Penang, Malaysia
Before PTDW2025 officially kicks off in Songkhla on 28 August 2025, the festival is already promoting regional cultural and creative exchange through its South Collaboration project, a special partnership with the George Town Festival 2025 (GTF2025), the major annual arts festival in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, which will be held from 2 - 10 August 2025.
Together, they proudly present “The South Paradise: Rong-ngeng Folk Dance” — a captivating cultural performance that celebrates Rong-ngeng, a traditional folk dance deeply rooted in the shared Malay heritage of ASEAN nations. The performance is divided into two acts that reflect the captivating beauty of Malay culture: “The Charm of Songkhla,” featuring iconic Southern Thai dances like Zapin Singora and Joget Samila; and “From Penang to Songkhla,” a contemporary art performance celebrating the beauty of the ties between Thailand and Malaysia. Audiences in Penang will first be treated to a vibrant fusion of rhythmic melodies, expressive choreography, and striking traditional costumes. The performances will take place on 9 August 2025 at 12.30 hrs. at Hin Bus Depot, followed by shows at 18.00 hrs. and 21.30 hrs. at Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi, with a final show on 10 August 2025 at 18.00 hrs. at Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi.
Adding to this cultural bridge is a special performance by “Culture Shot (La La Li La Tam Pong)” — an eclectic six-member musical ensemble blending Chinese, Indian, and Malay instruments. Led by Ang Eng Bok, the group creates a mesmerizing soundscape that reflects Southeast Asia’s rich multicultural identity. After their performances at George Town Festival 2025 (GTF2025), both shows will continue the cultural journey by appearing at Pakk Taii Design Week 2025 in Songkhla on 6 - 7 September 2025, with free admission for all attendees!
This special collaboration embodies the vision of fostering cross-border creative connections. The goal is to elevate Southern Thailand as a new regional destination for creative arts and cultural tourism, while also promoting its provinces to become emerging creative cities within ASEAN in the future.
Join us for the “South Paradise” experience, where the breeze, happiness, and tranquility of Southern Thailand will help you heal and ease your worries at the Pakk Taii Design Week 2025 (PTDW2025).
