CEA Joins First Korea-Thailand JCC Meeting to Boost Thailand’s Creative Economy with South Korea
The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, is proud to be a part of supporting the Korea-Thailand Joint Cultural Committee (JCC) mechanism to elevate Thailand’s creative economy together with South Korea.
Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkul, Executive Director of the Creative Economy Agency, attended the first Korea-Thailand JCC meeting on 5 September 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information, and Ms. Seo Bihn, Director-General for Public Diplomacy and Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Korea, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea in Seoul. Representatives from Thai agencies also participated, including the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Office of Commercial Affairs in Seoul, and the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA.
CEA emphasized the potential for cooperation between Thailand and South Korea in the fields of film, series, music, and design. These areas are ready to drive concrete international cooperation in partnership with CEA’s network of Korean agencies, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP), who also attended the meeting.
CEA has actively driven the film, series, and music industries through the Content Lab and Music Exchange projects, with KOCCA as one of the key partners. In the design sector, CEA plans to relaunch the Young Design Residency program, maintaining a continuous partnership with KIDP for over 10 years.
CEA firmly believes that advancing the Korea-Thailand Joint Cultural Committee (JCC), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies from both Thailand and South Korea, will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustainable growth for Thailand’s creative economy.
