Value of Exports from Thailand’s Creative Industries, 2005 – 2014 (Unit: billion US dollars)
Today, the creative economy is no longer just a cool idea. It is a real economic phenomenon and its contributions are reflected in the exports-of-goods data reported by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development-UNCTAD). In 2014, goods from the creative industries generated USD 6.5 billion in export value for Thailand, up from USD 3.7 billion in 2005. Thailand’s largest trading partners in creative-industry exports, in order of importance, were the United States, Hong Kong and Germany.
